USF's Richard James Named BIG EAST Men's Golf Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - USF junior Richard James earned BIG EAST Men's Golf Player of the Week honors after shooting a 138 (70-68) at the Linger Longer Invitational on March 23-24. The Bulls finished eighth of 14 teams.

 

James finished tied for second place in a field that included four nationally-ranked teams: No. 2 Alabama, No. 10 Georgia Tech, No. 13 Georgia and No. 14 Oklahoma State. Of the fourteen teams that competed on the Great Waters Golf Course, six were either ranked or receiving votes in the latest GCAA Coaches Poll.

 

BIG EAST Men's Golf Notebook

  •  Connecticut freshman John Flaherty and DePaul freshman Adriana Halimi finished tied for ninth at the FAU Spring Break Championship last week.
  • Halimi shot rounds of 73-70-73 to record his first top-10 finish of the season. His total score of 216 was also a season-best DePaul performance.
