, R.I. - The BIG EAST Golf Championships will take place April 16-19 at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort, hosted by Innisbrook and USF. The ninth women's championship will be held at the Island Course for the second straight year. Louisville grabbed the 2010 title, firing a three-round score of 920. The Cardinals have claimed four of the last five BIG EAST women's golf championship titles.
 
The Cardinals enter the championship ranked second in the BIG EAST according to the latest Golfstat rankings. Louisville carries an average score of 301.58 and has finished in the top-10 in seven of their nine tournaments. The Cardinals finished the regular season on a high note, winning their first tournament title at the Indiana Invitational. Three Cardinals rank in the top 10 of the conference according to Golfstat and are led by the BIG EAST's No. 1 golfer, senior Sara-Maude Juneau. The reigning BIG EAST Women's Golf Champion, Juneau boasts a 72.78 scoring average, ranking her 24th in the country according to Golfstat. The senior has one tournament win while finishing in the top 20 in all eight of her tournaments this season.
 
Notre Dame should provide the toughest challenge for the Cardinals. The Irish are the No. 1-ranked team in the BIG EAST entering the championship and look to capture their first team title since 2008. Notre Dame has won three of the eight BIG EAST Women's Golf titles and has had four individuals capture medalist honors. Notre Dame has three tournament wins this season, the most among BIG EAST teams, and has four golfers ranked in the top 10 of the conference. Freshman Nicole Zhang and senior So-Hyun Park figure to challenge Juneau for the individual title. Zhang ranks second in the conference with a 73.23 scoring average and has finished in the top 10 five times this season including one individual crown. Park ranks fourth in the conference with a 75.07 scoring average, while junior Becca Huffer ranks sixth and freshman Kristinia Nhim is eighth.
 
Host USF sits third in the conference with a team scoring average of 307.33. The Bulls have been paced all season by sophomore Shena Yang. Yang ranks third in the BIG EAST with a 73.26 scoring average and has finished in the top-10 in six of nine starts this season, including a win at the Cards Challenge and a runner-up finish at the Waterlefe Invitational. She ranks 10th in the nation in greens in regulation.
 
Cincinnati enters the championship at No. 4 in the BIG EAST with a 309.76 scoring average. The Bearcats are led by senior Bambee Dela Paz, who ranks 10th in the conference with a 76.12 scoring average. Dela Paz won her third career individual title at the UC Fall Classic. Freshman Olivia Dose follows closely behind Dela Paz aith a 76.95 scoring average.
 
St. John's, the No. 5-ranked team in the conference, is the only other team besides Notre Dame and Louisville to win a BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship team title. The Red Storm last held the trophy in 2005 and look to continue their strong play as of late. St. John's has a 315.05 scoring average and is led by freshman Harin Lee. A two-time BIG EAST Golfer of the Week, Lee is coming off a win in her last tournament at the Brown Invitational. She set a St. John's record for the lowest single-round score, firing a 68 and finishing the tournament at seven-under par. Lee boasts a 75.07 scoring average, which puts her fifth in the BIG EAST.
 
Georgetown comes in at No. 6 in the conference. The Hoyas are led by junior Joan Dulieu, who has a 77.25 scoring average and five top-20 finishes this season. Rutgers ranks No. 7 in the BIG EAST with a 319.55 scoring average. The Scarlet Knights turn to three-time BIG EAST All-Academic selection Jeanne Waters, who has a team-best scoring average of 78.09 entering the championship.
 
Seton Hall rounds out the competing teams. The Pirates are in their inaugural season of play and have been paced by freshman Hannah Basalone, who recorded the first top-five finish in program history by placing fifth at the Spider Invitational to close out the fall season.
 
The first round of the BIG EAST Championship will being on April 17 with the first tee time at 8:00 a.m. The pairings are done by a blind draw. Please find the full schedule below:
