ORLANDO, Fla. - Notre Dame won the 2013 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship with a score of 861 (294-285-282) to finish three under par. The Fighting Irish were led by freshmen Talia Campbell (210, 72-69-69) and Lindsey Weaver (210, 71-70-69) who were named co-individual champions.

 

Notre Dame's players all finished in the individual top 15. Campbell and Weaver finished first, Ashley Armstrong finished tied for fifth, Kristina Nhim was tied for eighth and Kelli Oride finished tied for 14th. The Fighting Irish recorded a score of 861, the lowest team score all-time at the BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship. No member of the Notre Dame team shot a round higher than 77. Campbell and Weaver also set a BIG EAST record for lowest 54-hole score. The previous record was 213 set by Cindy LaCrosse of Louisville in 2007.

 

Louisville was the runner-up with a team score of 875 (287-293-295) to finish eleven over par. Sophomore Emily Haas led the Cardinals with a 213 (72-68-73) to finish three under par. The sophomore's 68 in the second round was the lowest one-round score of the championship. Laura Restrepo finished in seventh place for Louisville.

 

Harin Lee of St. John's finished fourth to lead the Red Storm to third place. The 2011 individual champion shot a 214 (70-73-71) to finish two under par. The Red Storm shot a 904 to edge out Cincinnati (905).

 

The last time co-individual champions were named was in 2003. Notre Dame's Katie Brophy and Miami's Tina Miller were co-champions with scores of 229 at the Warren Golf Course. Brophy is now Georgetown's head coach.
