PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Cincinnati junior golfers Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) and Jenny Linville (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) were named to the 2010 all-BIG EAST team, the conference announced Friday (April 30).
Dela Paz led the Bearcats in scoring average this season with a 77.6 stroke average. She finished 10th at the BIG EAST Championships, firing a 76-78-81=235. Dela Paz shot a low round of 72 in round three at the Canes and Cards Classic. She posted a season-best second-place finish at the Jacksonville University Classic, shooting 73-73-146.
Linville led the Bearcats at the BIG EAST Championships, carding a 78-77-79=234, good for a tie for seventh place. She averaged 79.8 strokes in 30 rounds on the season and had a low finish of third at the Dayton Invitational in the fall.
Dela Paz and Linville become the first UC women's golfers to earn all-BIG EAST honors since Hillery Wilson and Allison Mayborg were honored in 2007.
