NEW YORK - There's a little more than two weeks until the 2014 BIG EAST Diving Championships and three weeks before the Swimming Championships, and teams are busy with the last push through their regular season meets and competitions. A pair of seniors who had strong weekends were honored on Tuesday with BIG EAST swimming and diving awards as Xavier's Chad Thompson and Seton Hall's Kerrie Kolackovsky were named Male and Female Athlete of the Week, respectively.

CHAD THOMPSON, XAVIER Sr., Dekalb, Ill.
Thompson finished the weekend with three race victories, one runner-up finish and two other top-four showings as the Musketeers competed in a tri-meet on Saturday and at the Butler Invitational on Sunday. Thompson swept the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes at the Butler Invite in 52.76 and 1:55.09, respectively, after taking gold in the 200 IM against Cleveland State and Oakland on Saturday with a victorious time of 1:06.23. He added a third-place showing in the 200 back (1:55.40) and a fourth-place effort in the 200 free (1:44.82) in Saturday's tri-meet, and took second on Sunday at Butler in the 400 IM (4:13.22).

KERRIE KOLACKOVSKY, SETON HALL Sr., Franklin Square, N.Y.
Kolackovsky totaled six individual victories over two meets last weekend as the Pirates inched closer to finish out their regular season next weekend at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md. The senior won the 100, 200 and 500 freestyles in Saturday's 153-147 victory over Marist, clocking winning times of 53.25, 1:54.52 and 5:09.75, respectively. In Sunday's 174.5-116.5 loss to Connecticut, Kolackovsky swept the 100 and 200 breastrokes with times of 1:05.50 and 2:22.97, respectively, and added a win in the 200 IM in 2:09.26. She now has over 60 individual race wins in her career, including a 16-0 mark this season. Kolackovsky was also part of Seton Hall's winning 200 medley relay against Marist.
Sophomore Austin Evenson of Georgetown claimed two race wins in Saturday's meet against Drexel. He took the 500 free in 4:50.07 and clocked a winning 10:00.73 in the 1,000 free.
Butler freshman Audrey Gosnell logged two top-five finishes at the Butler Invitational on Sunday. She took fourth in the 50 free in 24.86, and added a fifth-place finish in the 100 fly in 1:01.27.
Georgetown sophomore Nicole Tronolone swept the distance frees against Drexel with winning times of 5:15.15 in the 500 and 10:44.25 in the 1,000.
Providence swept Holy Cross on the road on Saturday. The men won 171.5-125.5 and the women took a 220-69 victory.
Villanova, which was idle last week, visits Pittsburgh on Friday at 5 p.m.
Saturday's slate features Seton Hall at the Navy Invitational, Providence home for Boston College and Butler at Western Illinois in a tri-meet that also features Monmouth (Ill.).
