The BIG EAST Tennis News and Notes
 
  • In December, the UConn men's and women's tennis teams spent a day at the Polaris Clinical Day School in East Hartford, Conn.  The school offers a foundation of learning and support for teenagers with significant social, emotional, mental health and/or behavioral challenges.  The Huskies participated in a number of activities to get to know the students of Polaris.  The main goal was to expose the students to college and what can some from furthering your education.    
  • The Louisville men's 2012 recruiting class has been named the No. 11 class in Tennis Recruiting Network's Winter Rankings. 
  • The newest additions to the Pittsburgh tennis team are freshmen twin sisters Amanda and Molly Wickman.  The sisters will team up for doubles and will both compete in singles for the Panthers.
  • The 25th annual Rutgers Tennis Party will take place on Saturday, Jan. 28 at East Brunswick Racquet Club.  The evening includes three hours of round-robin doubles, a buffet dinner and raffle prizes, including two tickets to the U.S. Open Tennis Championship. 
  • After competing in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships in the fall, St. John's men's junior transfer Vasko Mladenov enters the season as the highest ranked individual player in program history, as No. 29 on the ITA Top 125.
