NEW YORK – Georgetown sophomore Daniel Khanin and Seton Hall senior Chloe Sher were named the BIG EAST Tennis Players of the Week by the conference for the week of March 17-23. For Sher, it’s her second consecutive weekly honor from the BIG EAST.

Khanin went 2-0 last week for the Hoyas, picking up one singles and one doubles victory in Georgetown’s loss to Penn. He took a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Nikola Kocovic and added an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles with Casey Distaso, which helped the Hoyas take an early 1-0 lead in the match.

Sher extended her strong play in March and still has not yielded a set since the beginning of the month. She picked up two wins, a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Villanova’s Mikelle Mancini, and a 7-5, 6-0 triumph over Quinnipiac’s Sophie Dzulynsky. Sher added two wins in doubles competition as well, extending her personal win streak to eight. All four of last week’s wins came at the top position.
