Cincinnati junior Eric Finan set a school record in the 10,000-meter run, breaking the 30-minute mark with a time of 29:37.29. The team finished 15 points ahead of Miami for the team title while BIG EAST rival Marquette was third. The Bearcats are next at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational on April 8-9. Connecticut: Connecticut competed at the LSU Invitational on April 2 in Baton Rouge, La. The Huskies were led by junior Mike Alleman who won the shot put with a throw of 17.23 meters. Junior Scott Johnson and freshman Noel James each recorded a second place finish for UConn, as Johnson placed second in the 3000-meter steeplechase and James placed second in the high jump. Johnson posted a time of 9:09.45, which marked his best time in the event in the last two seasons. James cleared a height of 2.05 meters in the high jump, marking his second top-two finish during the outdoor season. The Huskies participate in the Texas Relays beginning on April 6. The team then hosts the Husky Spring Invite on April. DePaul: The Blue Demons competed in the Mike Poehlien Invitational on April 2. Senior Luke Rygh had the best performance at the meet, taking fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:12.88. Sophomore Max Clink placed seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.92. The Blue Demons will split the squad this weekend. The team will compete in both the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., and the Chicagoland Classic in Chicago, Ill., on April 8-9. Georgetown: Georgetown competed at the Colonial Relays and the 2011 Pepsi Florida Relays on April 2-3. At the Colonial Relays, the 4x800-meter relay team was able to take third, finishing in a time of 7:38.93. The team featured Billy Ledder, Brian Hancke, Marx Darrah and Dan Leyh. The distance medley relay team grabbed fifth, crossing in a time of 10:01.33. The team included Andrew Springer, John Maloy, Brian Manning and William Ahearn. GU next competes at the Mason Spring Invitational on April 9.
