NEW YORK – The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Regionals get underway Thursday, and the BIG EAST will be well represented in both the East and West. The West competition takes place in Fayetteville, Ark., while the East will play out in Jacksonville, Fla.

Both Regionals are set for three days, with action wrapping up Saturday. A total of 76 student-athletes from BIG EAST institutions are slated to compete. Not surprisingly, the vast majority of them – 65 to be exact – are in the East Region.

The top 48 individuals and best 24 relay times are invited to the Regionals. Those that advance through the Regional round will move forward to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 11-14.
