Cross Country Posts Solid Performance at Lucian Rosa Invite

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams competed in their third meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Lucian Rosa Invitational.

The meet, which was held in Kenosha, Wis., was hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Chris Miedema (25:52.7) paced the men's team in the 8K with a 19th place finish overall and third place finish amongst NCAA Division I runners. Following Miedema were Herald Alvarez (26:45.1) and Alex Campanella (26:46.6), who placed 70th and 72nd, respectively, out of 255 runners.

On the women's side, Jackie Kasal logged a time of 18:46.4 in the 5K, good enough for 37th place overall. Taylor Hynes (18:49.5) took 40th, while Paige Skorseth (19:38.6) placed 102nd out of 294 runners.

The DePaul women took 13th out of 25 teams, while the men finished 10th out of 19.

The Lucian Rosa Invitational was the first of two meets for the Blue Demons within a six-day span. DePaul will travel to Peoria, Ill., for the Bradley Classic on Oct. 19.
