PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's cross country team will send seven competitors to the New England Championships this Saturday, Oct. 12. The race will be held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. All seven Friars will race in the varsity meet for Providence.

Four of the five-person freshmen class will compete on Saturday. Hugh Armstrong (Balina, County Mayo Ireland), Billy Bragg (Middleton, N.J.), Jonathan Estrada (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Jake Feinstein (Sandy Hook, Conn.) will represent the freshmen class for the Friars.

Joining the four rookies are sophomores Stephen Robertson (Wakefield, Mass.), Brendan Sullivan (Foxboro, Mass.) and Joseph Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.).

"We see this meet as a good opportunity to gain a better idea of who will help fill out the roster for the BIG EAST Championships," Head Coach Ray Treacy shared on the meet.

Providence's top-eight runners will sit the meet out to prepare for the trip to Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19.
