BIG EAST Baseball Statistics
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Notre Dame's Trey Mancini and Seton Hall's Jon Prosinski took BIG EAST Baseball weekly awards after leading their teams to series sweeps in conference play last week.
Mancini earned BIG EAST Baseball Player of the Week accolades after going 15-for-20 (.750) in a 4-1 week for the Fighting Irish. The junior recorded five runs scored, four RBI and three doubles. Mancini ranks third in the league in batting average (.374) and fifth in RBI (42).
Prosinski pitched his third complete game in four contests in a 7-0 win against Villanova to be named BIG EAST Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The senior recorded 13 strikeouts and scattered six hits in the complete-game shutout. Prosinski is 4-0 in 40.2 innings of work in conference play this season with a 1.55 ERA.
Chad Green, Louisville, Jr., RHP
Green recorded five strikeouts and no walks in a 2-1 win against Georgetown. The junior scattered three hits in eight innings of work.
Dan Slania, Notre Dame, Jr., RHP
Slania recorded two saves last week against Michigan State and Connecticut. The junior tallied his 27th career save, setting a program record for career saves.
Boo Vazquez, Pittsburgh, So., OF
Vazquez went 5-for-10 (.500) in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. The sophomore tallied two RBI, two doubles and two runs scored.
Mike Genovese, Seton Hall, Sr., 2B
Genovese led Seton Hall to a 5-0 week, going 9-for-18 (.500) with eight runs scored, four RBI a triple and a double. The senior has now reached base in 19 straight games.
Lawrence Pardo, USF, Jr., LHP
Pardo went 1-0 with earned a save in three appearances last week, helping the Bulls to a series sweep against Connecticut. The junior pitched five innings in three games last week with five strikeouts and one walk.
