MBB Minute: Providence Winning Streak Reaches Four

A snowstorm and very cold temperatures held the crowd at the Dunkin' Donuts Center to just 2,022, but the Friars remained hot. They defeated Butler 65-56 in Tuesday's only BIG EAST game and increased their winning streak to four games.

The BIG EAST's second and third leading scorers, Providence's Bryce Cotton and Butler's Kellen Dunham, scored 18 and 17 points, respectively. PC forward Kadeem Batts was a difference-maker with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Providence won the rebounding battle 37-22.

There are no BIG EAST games scheduled for Wednesday. Seton Hall plays St. John's on Thursday at Carnesecca Arena.

Nation's Best -- In this week's NCAA statistics, Providence ranks first nationally in free throw percentage at 79.6 percent and St. John's is first in blocked shots with an 8.8 mark. Creighton is first in assists (18.5) and assist/turnover ratio (1.82).
