Guard Ben Hansbrough scored 19 points as No. 15/14 Notre Dame (17-4, 6-3 BIG EAST) went on the road to beat No. 2/2 Pittsburgh 56-51 on Big Monday. The last time the Irish had won on the road against a team ranked as high as No. 2 was Jan. 5, 2000 when ND won 75-70 at Connecticut.

The loss snapped a 20-game home winning streak for the Panthers, who had won 51 of their last 52 games at the Petersen Events Center entering last night. Notre Dame trailed 28-23 at halftime, but Hansbrough's jumper with 9:22 left knotted the game at 39. The Irish proceeded to go on a 9-2 run, capped by a four-point play from Carleton Scott. Scott finished with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Pitt trimmed the ND lead to 54-51 with 1:26 remaining, but Hansbrough clinched the game with a driving layup that put the visitors up five. The Panthers missed their final five shots from the field. Gilbert Brown led Pittsburgh with 13 points while Brad Wanamaker added 12.

Tuesday's schedule shows two games. Seton Hall will try to end a three-game losing streak when it plays against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome at 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN3.com The Orange are looking to bounce back from a home loss Saturday against Villanova.

Connecticut, which moved to No. 5 in both national polls, visits Marquette at 9 p.m. Eastern on ESPN3.com. The Huskies are riding a five-game winning streak. The Golden Eagles are 11-1 this season at the Bradley Center.
