NEW YORK - Ethan Wragge contributed to a 2-0 week for Creighton and helped write the Blue Jays' way into the BIG EAST record book. Now the forward can call himself BIG EAST Player of the Week after averaging nearly 20 points per game and guiding Creighton to sole possession of first place in the conference.
St. John's needed victories and got them last week, going 2-0 thanks to contributions from BIG EAST Rookie of Week Rysheed Gordon. The guard helped the Red Storm pick up victories against Seton Hall and Butler.
BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ethan Wragge, F, Creighton
Wragge averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and shot 60 percent (12-of-20) from 3-point range in a 2-0 week. In a 96-68 victory at No. 4/5 Villanova, he made 9-of-14 from 3-point range for a gamehigh 27 points and helped the Bluejays set a BIG EAST record with 21 3-pointers made. He scored 12 points in a 76-63 win over Georgetown.
BIG EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Rysheed Jordan, G, St. John’s
Jordan helped direct the Red Storm to a pair of BIG EAST wins by averaging 11.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds. He shot 53.3 percent from the field. In Saturday’s 69-52 win at Butler, Jordan scored 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

Davante Gardner, F, Marquette
Averaged 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Had 29 points and 13 boards vs. Villanova.
Bryce Cotton, G, Providence
Averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 assists in a 2-0 week. Had 25 points, seven assists and no turnovers in an 81-72 win over Xavier.
Fuquan Edwin, G/F, Seton Hall
Averaged 21.0 points and shot 69.6 percent in a 1-1 week. Scored 30 points in win versus DePaul.
James Bell, G, Villanova
Semaj Christon, G, Xavier
Averaged 24.5 points in a 1-1 week. Scored a career-high 30 points in OT win over Marquette.
Averaged 22.5 points while shooting 54 percent from the floor in a 1-1 week.
