Doug McDermott's big wire-to-wire performance, including the game-winning trey in the final seconds to beat St. John's, propelled him to another BIG EAST Player of the Week honor and kept Creighton in first place. R.J. Curington of DePaul was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week after posting a team-high in points on Saturday for the Blue Demons.

Doug McDermott, F, Creighton
McDermott scored 39 points, the highest scoring total by a BIG EAST player this season, and sank a game-winning 3-point basket with 2.5 seconds left to beat St. John’s 63-60. It was the Bluejays’ only game of the week. McDermott continues to lead the league in scoring with a 25.0 average.

R.J. Curington, G, DePaul
Curington scored a team-high 22 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 77-72 loss to Providence in DePaul’s only game of the week.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Markel Starks, G, Georgetown
Averaged 18.0 points and 4.5 assists in a 1-1 week in a loss against No. 9/9 Villanova and a win against No. 7/6 Michigan State.

Bryce Cotton, G, Providence
Averaged 24.0 points and 5.0 assists in a 1-1 week. Had 28 points and six assists in a win at DePaul.

D’Angelo Harrison, G, St. John’s
Averaged 21.0 points and shot 50 percent from 3-point range in a 1-1 week. Had 27 points in win over Marquette.

Fuquan Edwin, F, Seton Hall
Averaged 19.0 points and 4.5 rebounds and shot 43.8 percent during a 1-1 week for the Pirates.

James Bell, G, Villanova
Averaged 17.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Had 19 points in a win at Temple.
