NEW YORK - A 35-day countdown to the BIG EAST Conference Men's Basketball Tournament presented by New York Life will begin on Wednesday, February 5 with a promotional campaign utilizing multi-social media and digital platforms along with fan engagement to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the legendary tournament.
The 2014 BIG EAST Men's Conference Basketball Tournament is March 12-15 at Madison Square Garden. All games will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 and carried on WestwoodOne Radio.
The campaign, to be supported by the member schools and broadcast partner FOX Sports 1, will run for 35 consecutive days through March 11 and will be part of the "Glory Awaits" campaign designed to capture the emotional and nostalgic connections fans have with the illustrious history of the tournament.
The full scope of the campaign demonstrates a direction of innovation and creativity at the BIG EAST.
"The campaign is a celebration of our rich history and at the same time of our exciting future in making new memories starting at this year's tournament," said Ann Crandall, Chief Marketing Officer.
A dedicated "page/section" on the BIG EAST website (www.bigeast.com) will be home to a daily great tournament moment from each of the 35 years.
BIG EAST social media platforms will feature the following campaign elements:
- Daily BIG EAST men's basketball facts and trivia questions.
- Through BIG EAST social media platforms fans will be encouraged to share their favorite tournament moment.
Additionally there will be special 35th anniversary content in the tournament program.
