Men's Basketball Minute: ESPN College GameDay Heads To Notre Dame Saturday

 

A busy weekend has 14 of the 15 BIG EAST teams in action, beginning with five games Saturday. The highlight figures to be back-to-back showdowns between top-25 teams on ESPN. Notre Dame's Purcell Pavilion will serve as the host of ESPN's College GameDay, setting the stage for the day's action.
 
The BIG EAST Network Game of the Week gets things started at noon as No. 20/21 Georgetown visits Rutgers. The Hoyas have won four straight and enter the weekend just one game behind the league leaders in the BIG EAST standings.
 
No. 24 Marquette and DePaul meet for the 112th time Saturday, squaring off at 2 p.m. ET at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  The Golden Eagles are 5-0 at home this season and have won 20 straight on their home floor.
 
USF and Villanova battle at the Pavilion at 3 p.m. on ESPNU. The Wildcats sit at .500 in BIG EAST play, while the Bulls hope to end a five-game slide. Villanova was a 61-53 winner Jan. 9 in Tampa.
 
No. 23/25 Pittsburgh heads to No. 17/17 Cincinnati for a 6 p.m. tip on ESPN. The Panthers have won six of their last seven games, while the Bearcats look to bounce back from a road setback against Providence.
 
No. 25 Notre Dame hosts No. 11/12 Louisville at 9 p.m. to cap the day. Six of the 10 meetings of the teams under the BIG EAST banner have been decided in overtime.
