Both St. John's and Villanova are riding high after 2-0 weeks. The Red Storm are 6-1 in their last seven and are almost back to .500 in the BIG EAST after an 0-5 start. First place once again belongs to the Wildcats, who have a half-game lead on Creighton. Villanova visits the Bluejays on Sunday.

BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
James Bell, G, Villanova
Bell led the Wildcats to a 2-0 week by averaging 23.5 points and 7.0 rebounds. He shot 68 percent from the field and 58.8 percent from 3-point range. In an 81-68 win against Xavier, Bell had 27 points and eight rebounds. For the season, he is averaging 16.0 points per game.

BIG EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Rysheed Jordan, G, St. John's
Jordan averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week. He posted 18 points, six assists and three steals in an 86-76 victory at Providence.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Doug McDermott, F, Creighton
Averaged 28.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Had 32 points and nine boards in a win against DePaul.

Markel Starks, G, Georgetown
Averaged 22.5 points and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week. Had 19 points, seven assists and no turnovers versus Butler.

Todd Mayo, G, Marquette
Scored all of his 17 points in the second half to help rally Marquette to a win against Butler.

D'Angelo Harrison, G, St. John's
Averaged 20.5 points and and 5.5 reoubnds in a 2-0 week. Shot 47.7 percent from 3-point range. Scored team's final eight points versus Creighton.

Matt Stainbrook, C, Xavier
Averaged 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 1-1 week.
