St. John's continued its strong play of late and spoiled Creighton's first trip to Madison Square Garden as a BIG EAST member, taking a 70-65 hotly-contested game Sunday night.

The Red Storm have won six of their last seven games. After starting 0-5 in conference play, the Red Storm are 5-6 in the BIG EAST.

D'Angelo Harrison scored St. John's final eight points of the game and finished with a team-high 19 points.

Creighton's Doug McDermott matched his league-leading scoring average with 25 points, but was held without a point in the final 8:40.

The Bluejays fell a half-game behind first-place Villanova in the BIG EAST standings at 9-2.

Providence at Georgetown is the lone game on Monday's schedule. The Friars want stop a two-game losing skid while the Hoyas are looking to extend their three-game winning streak.
