The BIG EAST has a rare Friday night game tonight when Georgetown plays at Cincinnati on ESPN. The Hoyas have won six in a row. A win for the Bearcats will give them their second straight 20-win season.
Most of Saturday's BIG EAST action is early in the day with Villanova at Connecticut and Notre Dame at Providence both tipping off at noon ET. At 1 p.m., Pittsburgh plays at Marquette and Rutgers visits DePaul. In the evening, Seton Hall hosts Syracuse.
The results of Friday and Saturday might not do too much to break up the logjam in the league standings, though the Pitt-Marquette winner will have nine BIG EAST wins. Going into Saturday, the top six teams all have eight wins and the next three squads have seven victories.
Thursday's lone game saw Louisville defeat visiting St. John's 72-58. Cardinal guard Russ Smith scored 21 of his 24 game-high points in the second half. Red Storm coach Steve Lavin missed the game due to the death of his father.
