Creighton senior Doug McDermott garnered his seventh Player of the Week award on Monday, breaking the BIG EAST men's basketball record of six first set by Syracuse's John Wallace in 1995-96 and tied by Notre Dame's Troy Murphy in 1999-00. The Bluejays are alone in first place in the league at 11-2 after a 2-0 week.

Rysheed Jordan captured the Rookie of the Week nod after helping St. John's to a pair of victories last week. The Red Storm have won eight of their last nine overall and are 7-1 in their last eight BIG EAST tilts.

BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Doug McDermott, F, Creighton
McDermott averaged 32.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two wins to help move the Bluejays into first place. He tied a season high with 39 points in a 101-80 victory over Villanova on Sunday. Earlier in the week, he tallied 26 points, including a go-ahead 3-point basket in the final minute of a 68-63 win at Butler.

BIG EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jordan averaged 17.0 points in a 2-0 week for the Red Storm. He scored a career-high 24 points in an 82-60 win over Georgetown on Sunday. In a 68-67 victory at Seton Hall, he had 10 points. For the two games, Jordan had only three turnovers.

Averaged 26.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.

D'Angelo Harrison, G, St. John's
Averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Was 14-of-14 from the foul line.

Averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week.
