Villanova moved into first place Sunday afternoon with a 73-56 victory over Marquette at the Wells Fargo Center. Guard Darrun Hilliard hit for a career-high 26 points. Freshman Deonte Burton had 13 points for the Golden Eagles.

The Wildcats, 14-2 in the BIG EAST, have a one-game edge over second-place Creighton. Both teams have two games to play.

St. John's got back over .500 with a 72-64 win over DePaul at Madison Square Garden. D'Angelo Harrison posted 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. The Red Storm are 9-8 in the league standings.

St. John's led by 20 in the second half before a spirited DePaul rally cut the lead to three. Brandon Young led the Blue Demons with 23 points.

Xavier, fresh off a win over Creighton on Saturday, travels to Seton Hall in Monday's only contest. The win over the Bluejays gave the Musketeers their eighth 20-win season in the last nine years.

Nine regular-season conference games remain. No team has been locked up for a particular seed for next week's BIG EAST Tournament Presented by NEW YORK LIFE.
