The Seton Hall seniors came up big on Senior Night at the Prudential Center to help the Pirates defeat Xavier 71-62.
Senior Brian Oliver hit five 3-pointers and finished with 20 points. Fellow seniors Fuquan Edwin and Eugene Teague added 17 points apiece.
Xavier's Semaj Christon scored 24 of his game-high 28 points in the second half, but a Musketeer rally fell short.
The regular-season stretch drive continues Tuesday with a pair of important contests. Creighton will try to bounce back from Saturday's loss at Xavier when it travels to Georgetown. The Bluejays are 13-3 in the BIG EAST, one game behind first-place Villanova. The Hoyas are 7-9 in league play and have games with Creighton and Villanova remaining.
Marquette plays at Providence in a battle of two teams trying to nail down NCAA invitations. Both teams are 9-7 in BIG EAST play. The Friars are looking for their 20th win overall.
BIG EAST teams have played very competitive schedules this season and a return to the round-robin scheduling format with a 10-team league has accentuated that. In this week's RPIRatings, every BIG EAST team has a strength of schedule rating in the top 100.
