The 24th-ranked University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team plays host to North Carolina A&T on Sunday at Fifth Third Arena beginning at 2 p.m. ET.  The game will be televised by FOX Sports Ohio and can be heard on 55 KRC-AM.  

The contest is the first of four consecutive games in the Global Sports Invitational for UC. The Bearcats welcome Campbell to Fifth Third Arena on Tuesday at 7 p.m. UC then travels to Las Vegas, Nev., to play Iowa State on Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m., and either Oregon or UNLV on Nov. 24 at 8:30 or 10:30 p.m. Both games in Las Vegas will be played at the Thomas and Mack Center. The UC-Iowa State contest will be televised by CBS Sports Network as will the championship game on Nov. 24.

The Bearcats (2-0) are coming off a 102-60 home win over Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday. Sean Kilpatrick scored a game-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting to go with seven rebounds for UC. JaQuon Parker tallied 13 points with a career-high three steals. Cashmere Wright contributed 11 points with five assists.   

North Carolina A&T (1-2) lost at Wright State 56-44 on Friday. Forward Adrian Powell and guard/forward Austin led the Aggies with 10 points each.
 
Scouting North Carolina A&T
-North Carolina A&T finished 12-20 overall last season with a 7-9 record in the MEAC.
-The Aggies welcome first-year head coach Cy Alexander, who is in his 23rd year as college head coach after stints at South Carolina State and Tennessee State. He took five South Carolina State teams to the NCAA tournament during his 16-year tenure.
-The Aggies return more than 60 percent of their scoring from last season and feature a roster that includes a seven-man senior class to go with junior guard Jeremy Underwood.
-North Carolina A&T was led in scoring by junior guard Lamont Middleton (18.0 ppg) heading into Friday’s game at Wright State. Senior forward Adrian Powell was leading the team with 6.5 rebounds per game.

Series Info: Fourth meeting; UC owns a 3-0 lead in the all-time series. The Bearcats lead 3-0 in Cincinnati.

-The Bearcats return three starters and 10 lettermen from last season’s squad that posted a 26-11 overall record; appeared in their first BIG EAST Championship title game and returned to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since 2001. The squad set school records for best finish in the BIG EAST regular season (tied for fourth) and most league wins (12) while also defeating a school-best eight ranked teams during the year.
-This season’s squad features one of the best backcourts in the BIG EAST Conference with junior guard Sean Kilpatrick and senior guards Cashmere Wright and JaQuon Parker.
-Kilpatrick has been named to the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 list and the Naisimith Early Season Watch List. He was tabbed a first team All-BIG EAST selection by the league’s coaches in October. He returns as UC’s leading scorer from last season, averaging 14.3 points. His 92 three-pointers ranked first among all BIG EAST players.
-The Bearcats were picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST according to a preseason poll of the league’s coaches.
-UC enters the weekend ranked 24th in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN polls.
-UC’s 102 points scored against Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday were the most scored in a game by the Bearcats during the Mick Cronin era.
-The Bearcats have grabbed 54 rebounds in each of their two games this season, tying for the most in a game during the Cronin era.
-UC has outscored its opponents 92-36 in the paint (+28 per game) and 37-10 in fast-break points (+13.5 per game) this season.
