Gibbs, Kilpatrick Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

Kilpatrick the winners of the first weekly men's basketball honors of the 2010-11 season. The Panthers knocked off Maryland 79-70 in the semifinals and No. 22 Texas 68-66 in the championship game in New York. Against Texas, Gibbs had 24 points. For the season, the native of Scotch Plains, N.J., is averaging 19.0 points and 4.0 assists. He is shooting 47.1 percent from 3-point range. Kilpatrick was chosen as BIG EAST Rookie of the Week. He has helped Cincinnati to a 2-0 start by leading the team in scoring in both contests. He netted 21 points in his first college game, a 69-59 win over Mount St. Mary's. Kilpatirck, a native of White Plains, N.Y., is averaging 17.0 points for the season. He is shooting 55 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent from 3-point range.
