BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Doug McDermott, F, Creighton
McDermott wins the award for the second straight week after scoring 33 points and pulling down 15 rebounds in an 82-72 win against Tulsa. He is the only player in the nation this season to have a game with 30+ points and 15+ rebounds. McDermott leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 27.5.
BIG EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jaren Sina, G, Seton Hall
Sina scored 13 points to help Seton Hall beat Virginia Tech 68-67 in the Coaches v. Cancer Classic. He was 4-of-5 from 3-point range. In a 2-1 week, Sina averaged 8.0 ppg and shot 53.3 percent from the floor and 50 percent from 3-point range.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Khyle Marshall, F, Butler -- Scored nine points in overtime to help beat Vanderbilt. Had 14 points and nine boards in a win at Ball State.
D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, G, Georgetown
Made the All-Tournament Team at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off after averaging 21.7 ppg.
Tyler Harris, F, Providence
Averaged 14.0 ppg and 5.3 rpg in a 3-0 week. Had a career-high 22 points against La Salle.
Phil Greene IV, G, St. John's
Averaged 19.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg and shot 66.7 percent from the floor with no turnovers in a 2-0 week.
JayVaughn Pinkstron, F, Villanova
Had 26 points, five rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in a win against Delaware.
