BIG EAST Men's Basketball Honors - Nov. 29

 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The BIG EAST Conference has named Connecticut guard Kemba Walker and Providence guard Gerard Coleman the winners of the league's weekly men's basketball honors for the week-ending Nov. 28.
 
Walker, who was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, led Connecticut to the EA Sports Maui Invitational title, helping the Huskies to a 3-0 week. Connecticut had wins over Wichita State, No. 2/2 Michigan State and No. 8/9 Kentucky in a three-day span to win the tournament. Walker averaged 30 ppg in the three days, scoring a total of 90 for the tournament and coming just three points shy of the tournament record. The junior also averaged 4.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game. 
 
Coleman was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week after he helped the Friars to a 1-1 record in the Cancun Challenge. He averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in two games for PC. Coleman had 12 points and four rebounds in a loss to La Salle, while notched 15 points and four more rebounds in a win over Wyoming. The freshman is averaging 10.8 ppg for the season.

BIG EAST Honor Roll
Dion Dixon, Cincinnati, G, Jr.
Scored a career-high 20 points in a 68-34 win over Dayton on 7-of-12 shooting. Also had nine points and three assists in a win over Savannah State.
 
Austin Freeman, Georgetown, G, Sr. 
Tied a school record with seven 3-pointers in an 87-72 win over Penn. Finished with 32 points on 7-of-9 shooting from three. 
 
Tim Abromaitis, Notre Dame, F, Sr.
Named MVP of the Old Spice Classic, averaging 14.0 points and 8.7 rebounds while leading the Irish to the tournament title.
 
Justin Brownlee, St. John's, F, Sr.
MVP of the Great Alaska Shootout, leading St. John's to the tournament title. He averaged 17.7 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
 
Rick Jackson, Syracuse, C, Sr.
Had double-doubles in three games, including in the semifinals and finals of the Legends Classic. Named MVP of the tournament, leading SU to the Legends Classic crown.
