Jack Rice and John Galloway Take BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Villanova sophomore Jack Rice earned honors as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Syracuse senior John Galloway was tabbed as the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.
Rice recorded six goals and an assist last week, including the game-winning goal in overtime against No. 13/9 Penn on March 12. Rice netted four goals in the upset victory and had two goals and one assist in the 17-5 win against Penn State on March 8.
Galloway made a season-high 13 saves to help lead the No. 1/1 Orange to a 9-8 overtime win against Georgetown in the opening game of the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic. The Syracuse defense held the Hoyas to eight goals, below their season average of 12.75. Galloway finished the game with a .619 save percentage, while collecting two ground balls and forcing a turnover.

Scored four goals, including the game-winner with 2:19 left in overtime to lift the No. 1/1 Orange to a 9-8 win against Georgetown in the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic, earning game MVP honors.
