Georgetown's Steve Neumann Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week; Louisville's Andrew Farrell Tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Georgetown's Steve Neumann scored both gamewinners in a 2-0 week for Georgetown en route to earning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. Louisville junior Andrew Farrell earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Alex Bono was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season. Notre Dame's Patrick Hodan earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Week.  


Neumann scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 nonconference win against Lehigh. In handing No 4/2 Marquette its first loss of the season, the junior forward assisted on the Hoyas' first goal before scoring the gamewinner for five points on the week.


Farrell helped anchor the Cardinals defense in a 1-0-1 week, helping Louisville remain unbeaten against two Top-15 teams. Despite playing a man down in the final 18 minutes of the overtime periods against No. 12/8 Indiana, Farrell and the defense held the Hoosiers without a shot on goal. The Louisville defense also held No. 10/18 St. John's without a shot on goal in the final eight minutes of the league game for a 1-0 win.


Bono posted his seventh shutout of the 2012 campaign when Syracuse upset RV/23 USF on Oct. 13. He made four saves to earn the shutout.


Hodan scored Notre Dame's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to No. 22/24 Northwestern before recording a career-high three points on a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win against Seton Hall.




Tommy Muller, Georgetown, Sr., D

Muller helped the Hoya defense post a 2-0 shutout against Lehigh and scored his first goal in a 2-1 win against No. 4/2 Marquette.

Will Vitalis, Louisville, So., MF/F

Vitalis scored twice for Notre Dame last week, scoring the first goal in a 2-2 double-overtime draw against No. 12/8 Indiana and scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win against No. 10/18 St. John's.

Harrison Shipp, Notre Dame, Jr., F

Shipp scored a hat trick in a 6-1 win against Seton Hall on Oct. 13.

Wilder Arboleda, Providence, R-Jr., MF/F

Arboleda recorded eight points in a 1-0-1 week for the Friars. He scored PC's lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Columbia and netted all three of the Friars' goals in a 3-2 overtime win against Pittsburgh.

Kyle Soroka, Villanova, Sr., MF

Soroka posted three points in a 2-0 week for Villanova, scoring the game-winning goal against Lafayette and assisting on the gamewinner against Cincinnati.
