Georgetown Earns Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior forward Jose Colchao from Georgetown was named the BIG EAST Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the week, while teammate Steve Neumann, also a forward, earned Rookie of the Week honors for the second-straight week. Senior Jeff Attinella from USF picked up his second-straight BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honor, and third this season. Junior defender Connor Lade from St. John's was tabbed as the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. Colchao helped the Hoyas to their sixth straight win with two goals and two assists last week. He had a goal in Georgetown's 6-0 victory against Seton Hall on Oct. 13 before having a hand in all three goals in a 3-1 win Oct. 16 vs. Villanova. He assisted on the gamewinner against the Wildcats. Neumann earns his second straight Rookie of the Week honor after scoring 10 points in two games with four goals and two assists this week. He had two goals and an assist in each BIG EAST contest - a 6-0 win over Seton Hall and a 3-1 win against Villanova. He scored the game-winning goal against the Wildcats. He had four goals with four shots on goal, with a total of six shots. He leads the team with eight goals and six assists for 22 points. Attinella recorded two more shutouts with a pair of 1-0 wins over DePaul and West Virginia this week. He made fives saves on the week, including three against WVU. He has recorded 10 shutouts in 13 games this year, including a school record tying six straight. He hasn't been scored on 590 minutes of play- since Sept. 24 at UConn. The weekly award is his second straight and third of the season. Lade helped anchor a defense that posted a pair of shutouts last week. After holding Syracuse to just two shots on goal in a 0-0 draw on Oct. 13, Lade and the Red Storm defense blanked a UConn team that was tied for the nation's lead in goals scored and had been shut out just once in the first 12 games.
