Offensive Player of the Week

George Velasquez, Seton Hall, F, Sr.
Velasquez scored three goals in a 2-0 week for the Pirates. The senior had a pair of goals in a 3-1 victory against DePaul. Earlier in the week, Velasquez notched the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win against NJIT.

Defensive Player of the Week

Axel Sjoberg, Marquette, D, So.
Sjoberg made critical contributions in the Golden Eagles’ 1-0 win at Providence. He limited the Friars’ clear-cut chances, especially in the game’s final minutes. Sjoberg helped his team record its seventh shutout of the season.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Andrew Weakly, Villanova, GK, Jr.
Weakly made four saves to help the Wildcats win 1-0 in overtime at No. 12 Creighton. He made a critical save in the 97th minute and the Wildcats scored with 32 seconds left in the first extra period to gain their third victory in a row.

Rookie of the Week

Alex Muyl, Georgetown, M, Fr.
Muyl scored the game-winning goal and added an assist on the third tally of a 4-1 victory against No. 18 Butler. He scored one goal on two shots for the game. Muyl has three goals and six assists this season.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Steve Neumann, Georgetown, F/M, Sr.
Scored two goals and added an assist in a 4-1 victory against No. 18 Butler in only three shots for the game.

Charlie Lyon, Marquette, GK, Jr.
Earned his second straight shutout and seventh of the season in a 1-0 win at Providence. Tied his season high by making seven saves.

Sean Sepe, St. John’s, F, So.
In a 1-1 week, scored a goal in a 2-0 win against Princeton and had an assist in a 2-1 overtime loss to Xavier.

Julian Spindler, Seton Hall, GK, Fr.
Made three saves in a 3-1 win against DePaul and four saves in a 3-0 blanking of NJIT.

John McDermott, Xavier, D, Sr.
Scored his first goal of the season five minutes into overtime to lift the Musketeers to a 2-1 win at St. John’s.
