Santa Barbara, Calif. - The top ranked Louisville men's soccer team travels to Santa Barbara, Calif. to take on North Carolina in the NCAA College Cup semifinals on Friday, Dec. 10 at 8:30 p.m. EST in Harder Stadium. The Cardinals are competing in the program's first ever Final Four.
Louisville enters the match with a 19-0-3 overall record. The Cardinals are coming off a 5-4 win in a snowy thriller against UCLA last Saturday. All-American Colin Rolfe leads the team in scoring with nine goals and seven assists for 25 points on the season. Junior goalkeeper Andre Boudreaux owns a 0.74 goals against average, allowing only 17 goals in 22 games.
North Carolina enters the match with a 16-3-4 overall record. The Tar Heels are coming off a 1-1 double overtime tie against SMU on Saturday, advancing to the College Cup with a 4-2 penalty kick advantage. Sophomore Enzo Martinez leads North Carolina in scoring with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Goodwin owns a 0.63 goals against average, along with 57 saves and 11 shutouts.
This will be the first meeting between Louisville and North Carolina. The game will be televised live on ESPNU.
