Head Coach, Jose Fernandez:
Opening Statement:
"Seeing that we talked to other teams before the game, we found how important it was to get a win today to put us at point. I thought this was a very important game for us to get into the NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid and we can move on. I think that the crowd will be a little different tomorrow. It just gives us another opportunity to play Connecticut who had such a great year. Our team is definitely looking forward to that game tomorrow."

How are you guys different from the last time you played UConn?
"We played them just a short time ago, it was just a week or two and they came down and I thought for about 28 minutes it was a really good basketball game and then they went on a huge run. We got into some foul trouble but it was a six point game at half time. I thought they did a very good job in the second half finding Jessica Dickson in transition but the difference in the game was what Charde Houston and Tina Charles did on the glass. Tina had eight offensive rebounds and scored on every one of those and finished with about thirty points. That definitely cannot happen tomorrow; they are a very good basketball team and they are an excellent team at home. We are just going to have slow them down and take things away in transition which I think we did a good job with down in Tampa. We are going to have to defend the high and low post."

Senior Guard, Jessica Dickson:
You were 3 of 16 last time you played this team, was it a matter of righting something or were your shots just falling?
"I think it was a matter of me being patient on offense. I think I kind of learned from the last game to be patient, come off screens and look for my teammates; just let the game come to me."

Did you notice that Monique Blake was not playing, how does that affect your game and what you are trying to do?
"I think that it opened up in the middle, she is a good athlete who could jump and it helped open up our post game."

Senior Center, Nalini Miller:
Whenever Seton Hall got close, you were able to respond and move the lead back out, was that indicative to the dedication that you brought to the game today?
"It was the point that we did not want them to go on a run. We had to close the run because you never want to get down by a team or come back; it is the hardest thing when you have to dig yourself out of a hole. Coach would call a timeout and we would get yelled at that we can't get down; we have to keep fighting to the end of the game."

SETON HALL

Head Coach Phyllis Mangina
On the game:
"I thought we played really well. We came out of the locker room with confidence and did real well those first ten minutes. They made some good plays and Jessica Dickson played very well today."

On Monique Blake:
"She's very sick; she hasn't practiced for four days. About four days ago she came down with a 101 fever and hasn't practiced at all. We didn't say anything about it to the media. She tried this morning to walk through practice and she tried to play in the first half. But she was sick at half time and she said no when I asked her if she could play. I should have known not even to ask her. Monique (Sr. F) has given us so much over her past four years. If there was any way that she could have been on the floor she would have been. She really couldn't have gone out on the floor today."

What would you say to convince the committee that your team should have an NCAA bid?
"If anyone asked who should get bids in this league it would be very hard because there are a lot of good teams. I think the stretch run we had in February where we beat Marquette and Pittsburgh. Today would have been a different game if we had had Monique, because I don't want to take anything away from Florida. There are sixteen teams in our league and how we played in the last month I think we deserve to be considered for one of those sixty-four teams. We played really good basketball and played some really good teams. I have to think that if there are sixteen teams there should be eight or nine bids from our conference and we should be one of them. Look at how we've done; who we've played and beaten I think we belong there."

Heta Korpivaara, Senior, F/G
How hard was it for you to see Monique on the bench for her last game? "Of course it's tough because Monique always gives us so much on the court when she plays. Everyone else has had to step up and I guess today it wasn't enough. We worked hard but like coach said they made more plays and made more shots than we did. It's tough."

Elizbieta Mukosiej, Junior, G
Were you feeling off in the first half because you weren't playing like you usually do?
"That's a good question and I can't really answer that. It was just a lack of focus and that's what coach would probably say and I would agree with her. It was just a lack of focus."
