Is This Thing On?
DePaul head coach Doug Bruno and Villanova head coach Harry Perretta will don microphones on the sidelines of Sunday’s nationally televised tilt between their two squads. Each coach will be mic’d up for one half as the FOX Sports 1 viewers can listen in on the directions from the veteran mentors.

Six For Seven
One of the most intriguing matchups on Saturday will be St. John’s at Marquette. Both squads are winners of six of their last seven games, with the Red Storm showing a 4-1 BIG EAST mark and the Golden Eagles closely behind at 3-1. The contest will feature two of the league’s top-three scorers, including conference leader Katherine Plouffe of Marquette, who averages 19.4 points per game. Aliyyah Handford of St. John’s ranks third in the BIG EAST, scoring 17.6 points per contest.

Contrasting Styles
The Villanova-DePaul game on Sunday will be a contrast in styles, pitting the league’s highest scoring team (DePaul at 83.9 points per game) against the conference’s stingiest defensive squad (Villanova allows just 56.6 points per game).

Battle On The Block
Georgetown and Seton Hall will face off on Saturday afternoon in a game which will feature two of the BIG EAST’s most dominant rebounders. GU’s Natalie Butler is the league leader at 13.4 boards per game, ranking sixth nationally, while fellow freshman Sidney Cook of Seton Hall ranks third in the BIG EAST at 9.6 caroms per contest. As a team, the Hoyas list second in the league in rebounding margin (+9.2), followed by the Pirates in third (+7.3).

Creighton Catching Fire
The Bluejays, who travel to Butler on Saturday, are atop the conference standings with a 5-1 record. Creighton has won six of its last seven to improve to 11-7 on the season. Sophomore Marissa Janning is one of three BIG EAST players averaging more than 20 points per game in league play, as Janning ranks third in the conference with a 21.2 points per game average. The Bluejays boast the No. 2 scoring offense (73.3) in BIG EAST play to go along with the second-ranked defensive scoring average (63.5).
