Tuesday Tipoffs
Xavier will host Seton Hall while Providence will travel to Marquette in a pair of Tuesday night tilts. The Musketeers list third in BIG EAST play by making 7.5 three-pointers per game, while the Pirates are limiting opponents to 28.3-percent shooting from beyond the arc over 16 games this season, ranking second in the league. The Golden Eagles (73.4 points per game) and Friars (70.6) are two of the highest scoring teams in the BIG EAST, ranking second and fourth, respectively.

Important Points By Plouffe
Marquette is 6-0 this season when senior Katherine Plouffe eclipses the 20-point mark, but just 3-4 when the BIG EAST’s active career scoring leader scores 19 or less. Plouffe is the league’s leading scorer this season as well, averaging 19.3 points per game, while her 1,288 career points lead all active conference players and ranks 12th all-time at Marquette.

Making Some Noise
DePaul and St. John’s are making some noise on the national scene as both earned votes in the latest AP Poll, released on Monday. The Red Storm gathered seven points, while the Blue Demons, who also received four votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, garnered one point in the AP top 25.

Four Of A Kind
All 10 BIG EAST women’s basketball teams rank within the top 199 of the NCAA RPI. Of all 32 Division I conferences, only four leagues have all of their member schools inside the top 199, including the BIG EAST. Other conferences to boast this stat are the ACC, Big Ten and SEC, with BIG EAST teams combining for six victories over these three leagues this season.

Revealing The RPI
The NCAA announced its third RPI of the season on Monday with five BIG EAST teams making moving up the chart. Coming off an impressive win over Villanova on Sunday, DePaul jumped 35 spots, from No. 80 to 45. St. John’s continued its ascent, climbing from No. 19 to a BIG EAST-best 14 following a 2-0 week. Villanova rounded out the top-50 teams for the league, coming in at No. 34 after a 1-1 week. The Wildcats were at 38 a week ago. Following its setback to Butler, Creighton fell 18 spots, from 55th to 73rd.
