DePaul Gives Georgetown 92 Problems
The Blue Demons eclipsed the 90-point mark for the second consecutive game and seventh time this season in their 92-69 win at Georgetown on Wednesday night. DePaul has won 57 straight when eclipsing 90 points and is 133-5 all-time in 90-point games. Five Blue Demons scored in double figures, including 15 points apiece by Brittany Hrynko and Megan Rogowski.
Georgetown shot over 50 percent against DePaul and won the battle of the boards 43-32, yet found itself with a check mark in the loss column. The difference proved to be turnovers as the Blue Demons forced 30 GU miscues which were turned into 36 points. The Hoyas held a lead with four minutes remaining in the first half before three TOs gave the ball back to DePaul, allowing the Blue Demons to gain a five-point halftime lead which they would never relinquish.
Keeping The Streak Alive At Five
St. John’s extended its winning streak to a BIG EAST-best five games on Wednesday night with a 59-52 win at Villanova. The five-game stretch matches the Red Storm’s highest streak from the 2012-13 season, with their longest prior to that coming in 2011-12 when St. John’s claimed nine straight, including a quarterfinal win over Louisville at the BIG EAST Tournament.
