Significant Streaks
St. John's and DePaul maintained their hot streaks on Wednesday night as both claimed home-court victories. The Red Storm defeated Xavier 80-48 for their BIG EAST-leading seventh win in a row, their longest string of consecutive wins since 2011-12. DePaul knocked off Marquette 91-85 for the Blue Demons' fifth consecutive 'W'. DePaul's success streak is one shy of its season high and its longest in BIG EAST play since 2010-11.

Full Team Effort
St. John's exacted revenge over its lone league loss this season against Xavier on Wednesday night. In the win, all 11 Red Storm players who checked into the game scored at least two points. Georgetown achieved a similar feat on Sunday at St. John's when all eight Hoyas who saw playing time made at least one field goal.

Thwarted Rally
Down 17 at the half to Villanova, Georgetown mounted a rally which came up just shy on Wednesday night. The Hoyas outscored the Wildcats by seven over the final 20 minutes, 34-27, but VU held on for the 59-49 win. GU cut the difference to seven points with just under three minutes remaining, but Villanova sank 7-of-10 free-throws as the clock wound down to seal the win. Four Wildcats scored in double figures, while Natalie Butler (19 points, 14 rebounds) led the charge for Georgetown.

Giving The Fans A Show
DePaul and Marquette put on quite a shot for the crowd of over 2,300 on Wednesday night in McGrath-Phillips Arena. The Blue Demons, who boast the highest average home attendance in the BIG EAST this season of over 2,600 faithful, eclipsed the 90-point mark for the eighth time this season, while the Golden Eagles scored over 80 for the eighth time as well. The teams combined for 176 points, third most in league action this season. The DePaul-St. John’s game totaled 182 points on Jan. 11, while the Providence-Seton Hall tilt on Jan. 25 had a score total of 177. DePaul is the highest scoring team in the BIG EAST at 85.0 points per game, followed by Marquette at 74.2 points per contest.
