HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior Anna Martin scored 33 points on an efficient 12-of-18 shooting to lead No. 8 seed DePaul (22-9) in a 76-62 win over USF (17-15) in the Second Round of the 2012 BIG EAST women's basketball Championship presented by American Eagle Outfitters.

Jasmine Penny added 15 points and DePaul pulled away from USF in the second half. Holding a 40-34 lead at halftime, the Blue Demons made four 3-pointers in the second half and outscored the Bulls 36-28 in the last 20 minutes.

Over the past two games, Martin is averaging 34.5 ppg and shooting almost 73-percent from the field (she scored a career-high 36 in the regular-season finale against Cincinnati on Feb. 27).

DPU once again won its first game of the tournament, a feat it has done in every BIG EAST Championship it has participated in (since 2006).

It also was the highest point total DePaul has had in the BIG EAST tournament (76).

With the win, DePaul will play No. 1 seed Notre Dame on Sunday at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET. Notre Dame won the regular-season meeting between the teams 90-70 on Feb. 5 in South Bend. The teams have met on two previous occasions in the BIG EAST tournament, with both games being decided by five points or less.

DePaul beat ND 76-71 in 2007, while ND beat DePaul 71-67 last year (2011) in the semifinals.
