STORRS, Conn.- Monday’s ESPN2 Big Monday top-five showdown will feature No. 3 UConn at No. 2 Notre Dame for a 7 p.m. tip. The Huskies enter the contest with a 27-2 overall mark and 14-1 record in the BIG EAST. Connecticut’s only loss in conference action came on January 5 to the Fighting Irish (27-1, 15-0 BIG EAST) when the Huskies fell at home, 73-72.

The 7 p.m. game will be televised on ESPN2 with Pam Ward and Rebecca Lobo on the call. The contest will also be broadcasted live on the UConn Radio Network with Bob Joyce and Debbie Fiske.

The Huskies and Fighting Irish have built a historic rivalry with UConn holding a 29-9 all-time mark over Notre Dame, including a 9-3 record vs. the Irish at the Joyce Center. Connecticut has lost to the Irish in the Final Four in each of the last two seasons but UConn has downed the Irish in the BIG EAST Championship Final in each of the last two seasons.

Juniors Stefanie Dolson and Bria Hartley have faced the Irish nine times throughout their careers and have produced solid showings against their league rival. Dolson averages 13.6 points and 7.8 rebounds against Notre Dame, while Hartley has scored 15.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

The Huskies are led by Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (17.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg) who is coming off a career night at USF where she registered a career-high 32 points. Dolson (14.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg) joined Mosqueda-Lewis in leading the Huskies to victory in Tampa as she tied her career-high of 25 points and added 10 rebounds to tally her fourth career double-double. Not only does the duo lead UConn, but Mosqueda-Lewis owns the nation’s best 3-point field goal percentage (43.5) and Dolson possesses the country’s top field goal percentage with 60.5.

Following Monday’s ESPN2 showdown, SNY will air a post-game show directly following the conclusion of the game. The SNY special is scheduled to air from 9-9:30 p.m.
