Providence, R.I. - BIG EAST women's basketball and DVSport, a national leader in cutting edge software, have announced a five-year partnership, to begin with the 2012-13 season. DVSport will provide the BIG EAST with an HD capable replay system with HD monitors court side for improved picture quality, available on each campus.
"We are excited to advance our game and equip our teams with state-of-the-art technology in the area of instant replay," said Danielle Donehew, BIG EAST Associate Commissioner for Women's Basketball.
The addition of the monitors and replay system offer officials the tools to conduct reviews in an efficient manner by providing video controls, the ability to switch between different angles of a play as well as timing capabilities built into the replay system that mimic a game clock to assist with timing errors.
"As a long-time partner of the BIG EAST for replay services, we are excited at the opportunity to be a part of the expansion of replay into women's basketball," said Keith Lowe, Chief Operating Officer of DVSport. "Our HD basketball replay system will assist the BIG EAST in using the latest technology to provide an innovative solution for replay that will benefit the officials and teams participating in the game."
DVSport has worked with BIG EAST football, providing instant replay since 2005.
