WBB Well-Represented In Preseason Polls

Seven BIG EAST women's basketball teams, more than any other league, have been ranked in the Associated Press Preseason Poll, including No. 2 Notre Dame. The Irish, who earned six first-place votes, drew their highest ranking since finishing No. 2 in the March 12, 2001 poll. Junior Skylar Diggins also was named to the AP preseason team.
Connecticut checked in at No. 4, while Louisville was at No. 9 and Georgetown was ranked at No. 10. With four schools ranked in the top-10, the BIG EAST has more than any other conference. The ranking for the Hoyas is their highest ever.
Rutgers is ranked No. 16, while DePaul is No. 19. St. John's rounds out the group at No. 25. Marquette and Pittsburgh each received a vote.
In the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, Notre Dame is No. 2, including five first-place votes. UConn is No. 4 and Louisville is No. 9. Georgetown checked in at No. 11, while Rutgers is at No. 17 and DePaul is at No. 18. St. John's, Marquette, Syracuse and West Virginia were listed as others receiving votes.
