Baylor-ND Highlights

Box Score

The Irish (5-1) lost 73-61 at home in a rematch of last year's national championship. ND freshman Jewel Loyd was impressive with 24 points and seven rebounds. Baylor All-America senior center Brittney Griner had 24 points and 14 points.

Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw knew the Irish were in trouble when Griner, who was 10-of-16 from the floor, started hitting a couple of shots from 15 feet.

''That's what we wanted her to take,'' McGraw said.

Elsewhere, USF (7-0) remained undefeated with a 67-46 win over Florida Gulf Coast. The Bulls are off to their best start since 2006-07. Cincinnati (5-2) topped Youngstown State 57-46 at home. The Bearcats won without leading scorer Dayeesha Hollins (18.8 ppg) who missed the game with an injury. Pittsburgh (6-2) also won at home 57-47 over Loyola (Md.). Eight different Pitt players scored as the Panthers shot 44-percent from the field and held the Greyhounds to just 31-percent from the field.

Marquette (4-3) lost at instate rival Wisconsin 71-68. MU junior Katherine Plouffe had 12 points and tied her season-high with 13 rebounds. It was her second double-double of the season.
