Senior guard Sam Quigley scored a season-high 23 points to lead No. 22/RV DePaul to its third straight win, 76-72 over Northwestern at McGrath Arena. It was the only game involving a BIG EAST team Monday night. With the win, the league improved to 109-37 in nonconference action for a .747 win percentage.
DePaul (12-1), which held a 36-31 lead at intermission, opened the second half with a 16-6 run to pull away. Quigley opened the half with a 3-pointer and sophomore Katherine Harry capped the surge with a jumper to give the Blue Demons a 52-37 lead.
Kendall Hackney had 23 points and 12 rebounds for Northwestern (8-2).
Tailor Jones made a layup to pull the Wildcats to 76-72 with 59 seconds left, but Northwestern failed to take advantage on two late free throw misses by DePaul in the final minute.
Junior forward Keisha Hampton added 11 points and sophomore guard Anna Martin had 10 for the Blue Demons, who host No. 3/2 Stanford on Thursday night.
