LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville head coach Justine Sowry announced that Elina Pereira has signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the fall of 2013. She is one of six newcomers expected to join the U of L field hockey program, with the other signees to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Elina Pereira joins the Cardinals from Medford, N.J., where she played for Shawnee High School and was a team captain her senior year. She was named 2012 South Jersey Goalkeeper of the Year and earned All-South-Jersey first team honors. As a senior, Pereira was selected to the All-Burlington County first team and played in the Senior Showcase All-
Pereira is a 2013 Futures Elite selection and competed in the 2011 AAU Junior Olympic Games and helped her team to a bronze medal.
