Offensive Player of the Week
Erin Schneidtmiller, Louisville, F, Sr.
Schneidtmiller helped the Cardinals to a 2-0 record with five points, two goals and one assist. She scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win against No. 20 and BIG EAST foe Old Dominion. She scored the tying goal and assisted on the winning goal in a 2-1 victory against Northeastern. Schneidtmiller is second on the team in scoring with nine points.
Defensive Player of the Week
Roisin Upton, Connecticut, D, So.
Upton was the leader for a UConn defense that allowed one goal on only six shots in a 2-0 week. The Huskies beat No. 7 Massachusetts 4-1 on Sept. 18 and followed that with a 2-0 blanking of Rutgers on Sunday. Upton, who plays a vital role during UConn’s penalty corner opportunities, also scored a goal and an added an assist. For the season, the Huskies have given up only six goals in seven games.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Anna Jeute, Connecticut, F, Jr.
Scored two goals in a 2-0 week for the third-ranked Huskies. She scored the first goal in a 4-1 win over No. 7 Massachusetts and the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory against Rutgers.
Sydney King, Louisville, GK, So.
Posted a 1.49 goals against average with 12 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over No. 20 Old Dominion and a 2-1 victory against Northeastern.
Sarah Breen, Old Dominion, F, So.
Scored both goals in a 3-2 overtime loss at No. 19 Louisville in a 1-1 week.
Salene Shaffer, Providence, M, So.
Had a goal and two assists in a 5-0 victory over Georgetown in the Friars’ BIG EAST opener. The assists were the first of her career.
Alyssa Delp, Temple, F, So.
Scored two goals in a 3-2 double-overtime victory versus Longwood, including the game winner 22 seconds into the second extra period. She had an assist in a 4-1 win against Villanova.
