STORRS, Conn. - Senior forward Marie Elena Bolles has been selected as the Big East Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. Bolles, the Preseason Big East Offensive Player of the Year, earns the honor for the third time in her career.
Bolles scored three goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the fourth-ranked Huskies. The Phoenixville, Pa. native started the week off with a two-goal, two-assists in the Huskies’ 6-0 victory over No. 14 Louisville on Friday. She followed that up with one goal in the 5-1 victory over BU on Sunday.
Bolles is second on the team with nine goals and 25 points and, along with Chloe Hunnable, recorded the 100th point of her career on Friday. Bolles and Hunnable are the 16th and 17th Huskies all-time to reach the 100-career point plateau.
A 2012 All-America Second Team selection, Bolles ended the weekend with 39 goals and 28 assists for 106 career points.
