Connecticut Sweeps Weekly BIG EAST Field Hockey Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - No. 4 Connecticut swept the BIG EAST field hockey weekly awards as freshman Anne Jeute was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while junior Justine Angelini took home Defensive Player of the Week honors. This was the first offensive award for the Huskies this season and fifth defensive award.
Jeute helped Connecticut close out the regular season with a 6-0 shutout over Rutgers Oct. 30, scoring a career-high three goals. The hat trick was the first of the freshman's career and marked the first time a UConn player posted a hat trick since Lauren Henderson accomplished the feat in 2004. Jeute finished the regular season leading the Huskies in both goals and points with 13 and 31, respectively.
Angelini anchored a Husky defense that finished the 2010 regular season with a 6-0 shutout victory over Rutgers Oct. 30. The win over Rutgers marked UConn's eighth shutout of the season. The junior also scored two goals, including the game-winner, on corners and added an assist during the Huskies' win. Angelini finished fourth on the team with 17 points and led the squad with 11 assists.
