Connecticut's Angelini Named Field Hockey Region Player of the Year

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Connecticut field hockey senior Jestine Angelini was named the 2011 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Mideast Region Player of the Year.  Angelini is one of five DI athletes named Player of the Year for their respective regions. 
 
Angelini, the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, led her team into the national semifinal where they lost to No. 1 seed North Carolina 4-3 in double overtime.  She was selected to the NCAA all-tournament team, the 2011 All-BIG EAST First Team and the BIG EAST tournament team.  She led the Huskies with 19 assists and 41 points while finishing third on the team with 11 goals.  During her three years at UConn, Angelini recorded 25 goals and 35 assists for 85 points.  She was also selected to play in the NFHCA Senior Game which was played on Nov. 19 in Louisville, Ky.
