PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Wins over Penn State and Cornell helped a pair of Loyola players sweep the BIG EAST women's lacrosse weekly honors. Loyola senior Grace Gavin was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while junior teammate Kerry Stoothoff was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.
Gavin earns BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season after she totaled 12 points in a 2-0 week for Loyola. The Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year, Gavin had eight points, including seven goals in a 14-8 win over Cornell on March 11. The performance tied a career high in goals and points. The senior also had three goals in a 10-7 win over Penn State on March 8. For the week Gavin also recorded four draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Stoothoff had 15 saves, eight ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds to earn BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. In a 10-7 win over Penn State on March 8, the junior had seven saves, three ground balls and one caused turnover. In a 14-8 win over Cornell on March 11, Stoothoff had eight saves, five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Had five goals in a 17-7 win over Jacksonville on March 12.
Liz Hogan, Syracuse, Sr., GK
Had nine saves, two ground balls and two draw controls in the team's only game last week, a 7-5 loss to No. 1/1 Maryland on March 12.
Lauren Kahn, Connecticut, Fr., M
Totaled 15 points in a 2-1 week; had a career-high six points, including four goals in a 19-11 win over Sacred Heart on March 12.
Katie Liberatore, Cincinnati, So., A
Tallied seven goals in a 1-1 week; scored a career-high six goals in a 14-12 win over Detroit on March 11.
Ali Steinberg, Rutgers, Jr., M
Helped anchor the Rutgers defense in a 2-0 performance last week as the team allowed just 7.0 goals; also scored five goals.
